Born in Vinniki (Lviv region) 01.02.1951. Graduated from Lviv Institute of physical education and high school coaches in Moscow in 1983. Speaks English and Polish.
Football career. First coach - Bogdan Markevych . Playing role - midfielder. Played for: Karpaty (Lviv, reserves) - 1970-1972, SKA (Lviv) - 1973, Spartak (Ordzhonikidze) - 1974, Torpedo (Lutsk) - 1976-1977.
Career coach. Coached the team: Torpedo (Lutsk) - 1984, Karpaty (Lviv) - 1992-1993 and 1994-1995, 1996-1997, 1998-1999, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, Volyn (Lutsk) - 1991-1992, Podillia (Khmelnitsky) - 1995-1996, Kryvbas (Kryvyi Rih) - 1990, 1995-1996, Metallurg (Zaporozhye) - 1998-1999, 2001-2002, Anzhi (Makhachkala, Russia) - 2002. With the club Metallurg won bronze medals of the championship of Ukraine. Ukrainian Cup finalist of 1993 and 1999
Since 2005 - head manager of the Metalist Kharkov. During this time, Metalist won the bronze medal League record six times in a row - 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012. In 2012/2013 season Myron Markevych with Metalist won the silver medals of the championship of Ukraine.
February 1, 2010, the Executive Committee of the football Federation of Ukraine appointed Myron Markevych chief coach of the National team of Ukraine, while he remained FC Metalist head coach. A contract with the national team of Ukraine was calculated to the European football Championship 2012. However, in August of the same year Markevych resigned from his post by a decision of the Control and disciplinary Committee of the football Federation of Ukraine about the withdrawal of the Metalist club nine points in the tournament table Premier League.
